Sometimes I wish my dad wanted a Harley Davidson, or about 4 snowmobiles, or a couple 4 wheelers, but a lot of guys don't want to hang out with their dad, or don't have a dad, so I don't complain. I just give him a hard time about his Old West purchases.
Here is the latest...Buster and Beauty, and the "breaking cart" not pretty, but it is for working a young team. The boys and I had fun bouncing around the prairie on Sunday afternoon.

I kinda thought a convertible or a jeep wrangler would be nice. Looks like this is it. Grandma

When's the hay ride going to be.
I just want you all to know that this was no impulse purchase..."Yes, it is amazing what some people would rather have than money!!" Marc Kleinsasser and I have been looking for a good, solid team of smaller draft horses for quite some time now...(maybe Marc more than me???) Anyway I sold two horses in September and thot I was going to go thru the winter with just two riding horses...Then Marc called, "Bob, have I got a deal for you." Well, I made the mistake of going out to his place and "checking them out". I got along with them quite well!! I did have to have a couple of lessons on harnessing and hitching the horses...but I caught on fairly well. So now I have them home...I have harnessed and drove them two times now all by myself...kinda fun...
About the names...for some reason horses names have always been important to me. I can still name alot of the old tv cowboy heros horses. I have always remembered the names of the last team of work horses my dad had when I was a little guy. I can still remember them tied in the barn...and dad walking along side the wagon loading bundles just giving commands to the horses...Well, their names were "Buster" and "Beauty"!! So its a bit of nostalgia along with expanding my horizons!!! who knows if gas gets really high again, they might be looking for a good team of horses and a wagon to haul the milk around? DAD
